Professor of Political Sociology and Public Policies at the Faculty of Sociology, 'La Sapienza' University, Rome, Italy.

Graduated in Law in 1969 at "La Sapienza" University in Rome, Professor Fedele has spent long periods of study abroad as Visiting Professor at the Center of European Studies at Harvard University (Mass. USA) and at The European Institute of the London School of Economics. He has been Director of Department of Innovation until 2008 (DIeS) and Director of an advanced Master's course in the Management of Local Governance.

Over the last few years he has been National Delegate at the Fifth Community Framework Program on the socio-economic research. He has also undertaken work for such authorities as the Lower House of Parliament, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, the Ministry for Scientific Research, the Ministry of Labour, the Department of Social Affairs and the European Commission. This has involved the direction of research programmes regarding impact evaluation, administrative reorganization, immigration policies and new models of governance.
