Bed and Breakfast "Il Nevale"

Palazzuolo sul Senio

Wonderful Tuscan holidays close to the splendours of art towns such as
Florence, Bologna and Ravenna,
dipped in a spectacular and cool mountain landscape

Situated in Palazzuolo sul Senio, historical village awarded the title of Italian Ideal Village in 2004 by the magazine Airone and the EEC, the Bed & Breakfast Il Nevale is a beautiful building which includes old structures from the original stone farm from which it gets it’s name. Featuring two bedrooms furnished with antique furniture and private bathroom, Il Nevale has a large living room with wall to wall French windows overlooking the beautiful garden filled with flowers and shadowy trees providing an ideal space for quiet and relaxation.
Palazzuolo is a real-life fairy tale: a medieval village on the edge of the Mugello area, which was once the land of the Medici family, with a colorful history of castles, sieges and battles where heritages, betrayals, revenges and conquests led to repeated changes of ownership. Worth visiting, in the ancient, coat of arms-covered Palazzo dei Capitani, are the Museo delle Genti di Montagna and the Museo Archeologico Alto Mugello.
The village has many restaurants and bars as well as public swimming pool, tennis courts, mini-golf, bocce ball, soccer and volleyball fields, and other amenities. Depending on the season, Palazzuolo also offers a variety of events, including medieval feasts, seasonal product fairs, shows and street performances, flea markets, etc.
The owner, Adriana, actively involved in the activities of the local archeological group, is a great gardener and cook. Among her favorite hobbies are painting and embroidery. Her discrete and elegant hospitality opens the way to a direct contact with the local reality, past and present.
At only 437 meters above sea level, Palazzuolo is surrounded by a crown of beautiful mountains, the tallest of which, Monte Carzolano, rising to 1187 meters. Once a remote and rural area, these mountains saw the gradual disappearance of the farm based economy of the post war economic boom. As a result, Nature re-claimed the once cultivated slopes creating a breath-taking, pure and uncontaminated environment of mountains, woods and creeks, full of natural trails for trekking, horseback or mountain bike explorations.
The City organizes various guided excursions, out in nature and to sites of scenic or historical interest, with stops in Agriturismo for a taste of local foods.
