Until the end of the 90s, projects were delivered to the customer exclusively in paper format, both graphic and calculation reports. With the spread of AutoCAD^© we started to send also the electronic format of the drawings dwg files; and we had the need to send also the calculation reports in Pdf format. The programs written by TAI Soft for the calculation of the structures in Reinforced Earth were written mostly in C++ and Fortran, and used proprietary libraries to print the results (text, tables and graphs). Each of the programs (Valdez, Zaraus, Thizy and Swansea) generated a specific report, each different in format and content, but all relied on a local database in order to return a document in the language of the country in which the project. The last program I wrote for the Freyssinet Terra Armata was a converter required by the Ccientific management in Spain that translated the output language file E.Lan, the specific template of the calculation program and the results of the calculation itself and generated a Microsoft Word^© file , from which a pdf was obtained and sent to the client. Similarly, in the past I had developed several converters from proprietary computing programs to Microsoft^© Programs such as TS2MS, which imported the results obtained with Terrasol's Talren97^© program.
