PRAGUE......Galina Broiko of Ukraine was named the most beautiful deaf girl in the world at the Miss Deaf World 2003 international competition held in Prague, Czech Republic, on Saturday, July 19, 2003.

The competition was held in the Prague Congress Center and was sponsored by the Union of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of the Czech Republic and the CZECH MODEL Management company.

Galina Broiko, who comes from a small village near Odessa, Ukraine, is 21 years old. For the events talent competition Galina performed a Ukrainian folk dance dressed in a Ukrainian national costume.

Galina now studies in secondary school and after her schooling is finished she is planning on becoming a dental laboratory assistant and also would like to work as a model. Her favorite sport is volleyball. In the future she plans to get married and have a family.

The first runner-up in the competition for Miss Deaf World 2003 was Natalia Chochlovava from Russia who is 22 years old. The second runner-up was Sara Melech from Israel, 16 years old. Sara was the youngest participant in the competition.

Ladies from the following countries participated in the competition: Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Swaziland, Ukraine, and Yugoslavia, Lenka Uchytilova, manager of agency CZECH MODEL management, s.r.o. reported to the  www.ArtUkraine.com  Information Service (ARTUIS).
