18 judokas come from Paris, Marseille, Montpellier, Toulouse, Limoges, Metz and Bordeaux

Finally, it is for the first time since 10 years that Judo resumes activities within the France   Deaf Sports Federation. Tournament takes place to Cestas, Bordeaux. The organization was charged by Michael Burgard with the cooperation of the Deaf Sports  association of Bordeaux François Khalef's support, double world champion karate of the deaf  IMAFD which made confided by a responsibility of organization. Tournament took place successfully. Mrs A. Maillac, chair of the Regional Deaf Sports Committe  of South France and G.GIRIN, representative of the France   Deaf Sports Federation were enthusiastic by the judokas at very good level. One can consider that tournament is for the highest level. One saw duel  among Duclot ( Marseille) and Jonard (Limoges), triple world champion IMAFD. Duclot made brilliant performance in spite of her age of 34 years. One consider him as the deaf judoka at the highest level of all the times. Indeed, he was already selected in team of France on 4 occasions but sorry, he often miss  the WorldChampionship IMAFD.

As for Jonard, as he is triple world champion IMAFD, he left favourite but has the difficulties to beat Duclot. One can note the excellent performances of Faure ( Paris), Burgard ( Bordeaux) and the others. The spectators delighted really . Especially, they have the right to demonstrations made by Khalef. He made the last performance of karate for the public with its legendary kata: Suparipai. The public discovered Taiji Jian (Tai Chi with the sword) and Pakua Chang. Which beautiful spectacle!

Now, at the conclusion of this tournament, with Burgard, future Technical Director of Judo F.S.S.F. Hopes progress. It will be a good step for future. Thank you Burgard for save judo in France. There is a hope: the other martial arts will follow the example of Judo. Without forgetting that Khalef has already launch the activities of martial arts since 1984. For some years, he lost his the ambitions and motivations but with Burgard, he finds the forces to relaunch. Henceforth, one can hope that the F.S.S.F. will be more attentive from the point of Judo. Which gesture, the A.S.S.B. honoured Jonard for its 3 championships of the World. Having received magnificent the trophy. Jonard is really touched to be honored by the deaf !

Now, tournament is finished ! Next year, it will be the championship of France Judo would take place again in Bordeaux. One can hope for the biggest number of judoka. Thank you to Burgard !
