"One thing that I like about Martial Signing is that these actions make
sense. If you're being attacked, you sign 'Not a good night' or 'Grow up
and be nice', ideas that one has about attacks and attackers. They aren't
weird signs that don't make sense. You don't have to remember bizarre
things like, "OK, if I'm attacked, I'll be OK if I sign 'Dog, Pleasant,
Rutabaga'." These are reactions based in conversation and cogent thought."

"Matt Hayat's Martial Signing Video is an excellent way to learn simple and effective self defense even if you don't have any martial arts experience. I recently sponsored a Martial Signing workshop at my studio and everyone attending was very impressed with Matt's teaching skills and learned a great deal."

"Matt Hayat's innovative Martial Signing system metamorphoses basic American Sign Language (ASL) gestures into succinct, potent self-defense techniques. He transforms simple ASL phrases into survivalistic templates that can be learned easily and performed reactively. When it comes to self-defense, Martial Signing exemplifies the old adage that, 'Actions speak louder than words. '"

"With little effort, an 8 year-old girl used a technique from the Martial Signing video and literally forced me to the ground, writhing in pain. The techniques are easy, effective, and practical--even for children."

"Martial Signing has changed the way I teach martial arts. Because students get the proper hand position and movement when they first learn the sign, it becomes easy for them to perform the self-defense skills that follow. My students are picking up new techniques faster than ever ! The students in my kickboxing class loved learning the self-defense techniques found in Martial Signing. Because they had learned the hand movements and positioning for the sign first, they were quickly able to properly perform the techniques and remember them long afterward.

As a martial artist, I train certain movements over and over again, so that they become natural and so that I will be able to use them under stress. The thing I find most amazing about Martial Signing is the way deaf students, who speak sign language all the time, are able to quickly pick up and master complicated techniques. They can do this because they constantly practice as they communicate throughout the day. Their movements are completely spontaneous and totally natural. Beginners who speak ASL fluently are able to learn and perform techniques that have literally, taken me years to perfect."

"Matt Hayat's brilliant insight -- that Sign Language can be used for self-defense -- is a tremendous boon for hearing and deaf persons alike. And remarkably, learning this method helps martial artists to make rapid gains in their self-defense skills regardless of their level of training."

"Martial Signing benefits anyone involved in the martial arts, from novices to self-defense professionals. This exemplary and innovative video just scratches the surface of the potential that Martial Signing has for enhancing the personal safety of the people we care about. Matt has taken a very important subject and made it both easy to learn and remember. And this video is the next best thing to seeing Matt teach 'live.'  His Martial Signing workshops are a personal favorite of mine as well as of my staff and clients.

Best regards and health!"
